To celebrate the Great British Summer we searched for the ultimate in staycation style.

Since lockdown had us all stuck in our homes longer than expected, and put any holiday plans we had on hold, the only way to get through it was to create your own vacation from the comfort of your own home.

We have loved seeing rooms transformed into spaces that feel more like a resort. With anything from tropical table settings to new wall hangings or fresh flowers and string lights – Lockdown had us all testing our D.I.Y capabilities.

However, there’s beauty and adventure to be found on your doorstep, and throughout lockdown your amazing staycations kept us inspired…

Your own tropical oasis

This unique living area comes from Rachel @rowlyninteriors. She has designed a floral wallpaper inspired, tropical themed lounge for her perfect staycation.

With the help of our Banana Leaf Wallpaper setting the scene, green house plants and a mix of bright and dark contrasting furnishings – this room is the perfect place for a relaxing break.

Rachel said: “After hunting around for the perfect wallpaper for my living room revamp I came across the banana leaf print and knew instantly it was the one.

Me being a huge plant fan I was looking for something botanical in monochrome to use as a backdrop for my bold accessories and paint choice – and this ticked all the boxes!”

This eye-catching lounge creates a fun and inspiring atmosphere. We love how Rachel has combined different patterns and textures within this space for an original and energetic look.

This lounge definitely proves that bold colours and prints work in sync together to create an empowering space that you can unwind in this Summer.

Luxe living at home

Not every relaxing space needs to be tropical themed though! Who doesn’t adore a night away in a luxury hotel? We think this lounge from Nicola @ourevergreensrenovation emphasises just that.

Metallic prints showcase a new edge to luxe interior. Nicola has incorporated a contemporary feel to her space with modern furniture pieces and complementing plush fabrics.

Nicola said: “I have always loved interior design but the move to this property, along with lockdown has reignited my creative side.

We are huge fans of grey but love to combine it with colour. I also love to combine styles, such as Scandinavian and Industrial”.

Experimenting with different styles and punchy colours can produce a lavish living space that will help add depth to your interior.

“This particular room is a lounge for our daughter so it needed to be stylish but functional for someone also needing space to work from home.

The Sapphire Foil Wallpaper added the glamour that was needed – combined with the painted wood furniture and pops of colour in the accessories”.

After being stuck inside for so long, it has been a challenge to make our homes feel like a relaxing escape. Which is why we agree it is extremely important to renovate your favourite spaces for a stylish and mindful refresh.
